Each scream was recorded and archived in an online database: a digital collection of the Dutch voice, raw and unfiltered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"481\" data-end=\"895\">JUT \u2013 Database van Schreeuwend Nederland (JUT \u2013 Database of Screaming Holland) was inspired by one of the Netherlands\u2019 favorite pastimes: shouting for no reason at all.<br \/>\nBetween 2005 and 2009, JUT collected over 8,000 screams, all archived in an online database.<br \/>\nThe project revolved around expression, release, and the act of making emotions both visible and audible in a society that often demands restraint.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"897\" data-end=\"1113\">The work was presented as part of the outdoor program of Wereld van de Witte de With 2006, commissioned by Rotterdam Festivals.
