Welcome

With exaggerated gestures, glittering costumes, and exuberant cheerfulness, BLISS transformed public space into a living performance. Their cake-shaped float served as a mobile stage where celebration, absurdity, and hospitality merged. Welcome turned the festival audience itself into the main performers in a celebration of togetherness and urban energy.

The performance combined humor, exuberance, and human warmth in one moving spectacle. Welcome was more than just festive decoration — it was a living invitation for the city to celebrate itself. Mothership acted as curator and producer of the project, in collaboration with Rotterdam Festivals.

The project was presented on behalf of Rotterdam Festivals. Mothership developed the concept, led the participation process, and was responsible for coordination and execution.
