Trace

In the interactive installation Trace, artist Maze de Boer unites art, sport, and memory in an intriguing experience. Within an arrangement of twelve specially designed foosball tables, iconic moments from football history come to life. Each table features a legendary goal or match, with bronze miniatures of football heroes and an accompanying sound installation that deepens the narrative.

The installation invites visitors not only to watch but also to play, becoming physically part of these collective memories. By using sport as a universal language, Trace explores themes of identity, heroism, and the power of nostalgia.

Trace was exhibited in the gallery space of Concordia, in collaboration with Twentse Welle in Enschede. The project was realized in cooperation with CBK Enschede and with thanks to the KNVB Sports Centre. Mothership was responsible for project management and production.
