During the dark winter months, Dordrecht City Hall was transformed into a mesmerizing canvas of light, history, and wonder. Each evening, a visual story unfolded across its monumental façade — a 3D projection bringing the city’s rich history to life, from its trading past to contemporary pride, from iconic landmarks to forgotten tales.
The project was realized in collaboration with the collective Blauwe Uur, which designed and produced the impressive video projection. Mothership initiated the project and was responsible for concept development, as well as the technical and artistic execution and overall project management.
Thanks to this collaboration, a temporary city portrait emerged — one in which past and present met. The projection brought residents, visitors, and passersby together on the square in front of City Hall, where light sparked conversation and allowed the city to be experienced in a new way. A powerful example of how art, heritage, and technology can amplify one another — with Mothership as the connecting link between idea and realization.
