Projection Amphia Hospital
Mothership, 2019
In 2019, the new Amphia Hospital building in Breda was inaugurated, merging two existing locations into a single, modern healthcare complex. To mark this special milestone, Mothership created an impressive projection along the upper edge of the building.
This light installation, wrapping around the roof like a living ribbon, was more than mere decoration. Light took center stage — as a symbol of hope, a guide in dark times, and a warm welcome for patients, visitors, and staff. The projection quite literally crowned the building, illuminating Amphia in its new form and making it visible to the entire city.
Mothership was responsible for the design, execution, project management, and curatorship. With sensitivity to the site, function, and meaning, the artwork was created to seamlessly align with the hospital’s identity — caring, forward-thinking, and welcoming.
