Power Flower
The Power Flower was a light show above the Weerwater in Almere, created for the Floriade. Mothership conceived the concept, led the community participation process, and oversaw the project’s execution and design. In addition, Mothership coordinated the overall production. Twenty lights, mounted on a high-voltage tower, created the image of a blooming flower over the water each evening between sunset and midnight. The shape and character of the flowers changed regularly and were designed in collaboration with the residents of Almere.
For 180 days, the Power Flower created an enchanting atmosphere on and around the Weerwater, uniting art, light, and community in a unique visual spectacle.
