Love for connection

On the Liefdespad in Ruurlo, artist Daan den Houter has made a loving statement with his “High Tea Table.” This gigantic picnic table rises above the landscape and invites connection — both literal and symbolic. Those who take a seat at the highest point of the table can make visual contact from afar with the lookout tower of Europe’s largest hedge maze.

This work, realized in 2020 in collaboration with Mothership, falls under the theme “love for connection” and was made possible by VVV Ruurlo. The organization has symbolically taken on the role of guardian of this special loveseat and is committed to fostering connection through numerous walking and cycling routes starting from Ruurlo. Mothership acted as curator, executor, and project manager for this project, ensuring that the artwork was seamlessly integrated into the public space of Ruurlo.
