Lichtgedicht
Where once only concrete reigned, poetry now shines. At Rotterdam Noord Station, Geert Mul brought the poem Licht en donker (Light and Darkness) by former city poet Ester Naomi Perquin to life in a dynamic light installation.
On a concrete column, the words of the poem appear and disappear depending on the color of the light — a poetic experience that reveals itself only in darkness. The work is part of the city’s lighting scheme and adds an almost magical element to the public space.
Mothership acted as curator and was responsible for the coordination and execution of the project. The work was produced on behalf of Bibliotheek Rotterdam and the Noord district council.
