During the Wereld van de Witte de With festival in 2006, Foamlab presented the work Inflatable Space 01. This striking artwork consisted of a large, white inflatable structure, accessible through slits and zippers. Visitors could enter and experience the work from the inside, where the contrast between the soft, enveloping exterior and the mysterious inner world took center stage.
The installation played with notions of inside and outside, safety and curiosity. It invited the audience to explore: those who took the step inside were immersed in a light-filled, breathing space where the usual boundaries between viewer and artwork dissolved. The physical experience of the space was central, evoking a sense of childlike wonder.
Inflatable Space 01 was presented during Wereld van de Witte de With 2006 as part of the outdoor program. Mothership acted as project manager and curator of the work.
