Festival Dag Hap

Henriette Waal, Olivier Darné, Studio Makkink & Bey, Atelier Gras, Sjim Hendrix, Annechien Meier, Fritz Haeg, Recycle Architects Refunc, Boris Duijneveld - MUD Projects, 2011

As part of the multi-year program Foodprint – Voedsel voor de Stad, Stroom Den Haag organized the sustainable art festival DAG HAP in 2011 on the vacant Erasmusveld site, which was set to be transformed into the most sustainable neighborhood in the Netherlands. From September 30 to October 16, a wide range of art projects and activities took place each weekend, inviting visitors to reflect — in surprising and sometimes confronting ways — on our food cycle.

The festival brought together artists, designers, and chefs to share their visions of how we might source our food in the future. From brewing beer with ditch water to creating edible walls — nothing was too far-fetched. Eight art projects, including works by Henriette Waal, Olivier Darné, Studio Makkink & Bey, Atelier Gras, and Refunc, were part of this inspiring program.

Mothership acted as co-producer alongside Stroom Den Haag, helping to temporarily transform Erasmusveld into a culinary and cultural laboratory full of ideas for the future. In addition, Mothership oversaw the participation process and coordinated the project.
