During the Wereld van de Witte de With festival in 2009, Dstruct presented the work There Are Limits! — an installation consisting of twelve tall towers, each displaying images of people who influence what we are and aren’t allowed to do.
With this sculptural intervention, Dstruct visualized the invisible frameworks and authorities that shape our daily lives. The towers acted as symbolic guardians of norms, laws, and cultural behaviors, prompting the question of who holds the power to set boundaries — both literally and figuratively.
Er zijn Grenzen! was exhibited in public space during the annual art festival in Rotterdam, inviting the audience to reflect on autonomy, control, and the visibility of power. Mothership developed the concept and acted as initiator and coordinator of the project. The production was carried out in collaboration with September in Rotterdam (Rotterdam Festivals).
