Do It
With great pride, Jeroen Everaert served as guest curator for the Rotterdam edition of Do it, a groundbreaking exhibition concept by world-renowned curator Hans Ulrich Obrist. Presented in the summer of 2015 at the Kunsthal Rotterdam, the exhibition consisted of artistic instructions by leading international artists — including Yoko Ono, Carsten Höller, Gilbert & George, Ilya Kabakov, and Erwin Wurm — executed by others.
Together with the Kunsthal, Jeroen selected more than fifty of these conceptual do it instructions, which were brought to life by various artists during the exhibition. Well-known Rotterdam-based names — including Arno Coenen & Iris Roskam in collaboration with Abner Preis — were also invited to participate. They realized artist Jay Chung’s instruction in their own distinctive way.
In his role as guest curator, Jeroen demonstrated both his affinity for innovative exhibition formats and his ability to bridge international ideas with the local art scene. A project in which the spirit of Mothership — bringing art to the people — truly came to life.
