Coolsingel Verlicht!

In 2021, the Coolsingel underwent a major transformation. To highlight this renewal in a unique way during the darker months, laser beams were used to trace the Coolsingel’s long lines — a defining feature of the new design. From both ends of the boulevard, horizontal laser beams shone through the tree-lined avenues, meeting one another halfway. Slowly moving and shifting in color, the beams created a mesmerizing play of light and lines.

When moving toward the laser, you primarily see the long beams stretching upward, as if reaching into the sky. From the opposite direction, the focus shifts to a dance of glowing dots — the points where the laser beams touch the trees.
