American School
The light artwork American School by Herman Lamers is located in the atrium of the main building of The American School of The Hague. It features a floating black 3D-printed figure of a young girl sitting on a cloud, surrounded by a circular light structure. The installation creates a dreamy, almost otherworldly atmosphere. The figure gazes downward, as if searching for her place in the world, evoking a sense of contemplation and mystery. The artwork is designed to spark reflection and imagination among students as they wait or pass by.
For this project, Mothership served as curator, project manager, and executive producer. By working closely with Herman Lamers and the school, Mothership ensured the smooth realization of this technically and artistically challenging artwork. The result is a poetic light installation that fits perfectly within the educational and architectural context of the school.
