MWAH, Tekstuele Verwenners, 2014

For the festive opening of the renovated Rotterdam Central Station on 13 March 2014, Mothership developed the concept for #selfie — a temporary text-based project that surprised travellers and made them smile or pause for a moment. In collaboration with Mwah – Tekstuele Verwenners and commissioned by the Rotterdam Central Opening project group (NS, ProRail, the Municipality of Rotterdam, and Rotterdam Centraal), a series of short, thought-provoking texts was distributed throughout the station.

Mothership was responsible for concept development, design, production, the participation process, and overall project management. The texts appeared in unexpected places, responding to the moment, the journey, or simply the joy of being on the move. Like real travellers, the messages have since moved on — but they left a lasting impression.
