Zeg het met bloemen

Mothership, 2011

During 24 UUR Cultuur in Rotterdam, Mothership poetically combined art and flowers in the project Zeg het met bloemen (Say It with Flowers). Along a special route connecting cultural institutions, eye-catching bicycles appeared — lavishly decorated with vibrant bouquets. These mobile floral greetings welcomed visitors and culture enthusiasts alike, playfully nodding to the iconic Flower Thrower by British street artist Banksy.

The bicycles served not only as decorative elements but also as invitations to interact. Visitors were encouraged to pose in the iconic Flower Thrower stance — a playful way to give love for art back to the streets. The photos were shared online, in the hope that even Banksy himself might see them.

Zeg het met bloemen was a collaboration between Mothership, CCCP, and Rotterdam ByCycle, transforming the city into a blossoming artwork to celebrate the start of the cultural season. Mothership developed the concept, acted as curator, and guided the participation process.
