The Barking Dog
During the 2007 Wereld van de Witte de With festival, the design collective Snodevormgevers presented their work The Barking Dog. This striking installation featured a life-sized replica of the first model of the Joint Strike Fighter aircraft, constructed entirely out of cardboard.
By reconstructing an iconic military object in a fragile, temporary material, the artists questioned the monumental status of technology and military power. The work thus acquired both a poetic and critical undertone. The Barking Dog functioned as a symbol of power display — loud and imposing, yet ultimately fragile and transient.
Mothership initiated and curated the project, and acted as project manager and producer.
