Sky Mirror

On September 16, 2017, an iconic artwork was unveiled in front of Museum De Pont in Tilburg: Sky Mirror by world-renowned artist Anish Kapoor. This impressive, reflective sculpture marked the 25th anniversary of the museum, which is housed in a former wool mill and named after Jan de Pont — lawyer, businessman, and patron of contemporary art.

Sky Mirror was installed in public space, directly in front of the museum, where it captures and reflects the sky. The official unveiling took place in the presence of Princess Beatrix, Anish Kapoor, and museum director Hendrik Driessen.

Commissioned by Brabant C and the Municipality of Tilburg, Mothership played a central role in the realization of this project. Mothership managed the participation process, execution, project management, and curatorship. With the arrival of Sky Mirror, Tilburg gained not only a monumental artwork but also a powerful visual symbol. In collaboration with City Marketing Tilburg and Coebergh Communication & PR, the sculpture will continue to be used in the coming years to position the city as a major cultural destination.
