Noisejoy
During the Free Gaming Festival on July 18, 2009, in Rotterdam, artist DTRUCT (Thijs Kelder) presented the interactive installation Noisejoy. The installation resembles a life-sized wooden joystick with a built-in computer (Max/MSP), allowing visitors to manipulate audio fragments by pressing buttons and moving the joystick. The resulting sounds are characteristic 8-bit computer tones, which could be rhythmically combined through interaction to create a unique sound composition.
Noisejoy was presented alongside works by the artist collective RNUL and fit perfectly within the festival’s theme, where art and gaming intersect. The project was curated and coordinated by Mothership on behalf of Buro Fris.
