MS Eurodam
For the cruise ship MS Eurodam of the Holland America Line, artist Hans van Bentem designed a series of spectacular chandeliers installed throughout various spaces on board. With his distinctive style—merging baroque opulence, classical elegance, and playful imagination—Van Bentem gave the Eurodam’s interior a unique and luxurious character.
The chandeliers are crafted from materials such as porcelain, crystal, and glass, taking on surprising forms—from seahorses and octopuses to abstract compositions that reference seafaring and mythical creatures. Each piece is custom-made for its specific location on board, seamlessly complementing the atmosphere and theme of the spaces in which it hangs.
The chandeliers combine craftsmanship with imagination, serving as true eye-catchers throughout the ship. They not only enhance the sense of luxury and wonder but also contribute to the Eurodam’s distinctive cultural identity.
The project was curated, coordinated, and produced by Mothership, in collaboration with the architectural firm Yran & Storbraaten.
