Meer dan voetbal. 365 dagen
Meer dan voetbal. 365 dagen (More than Football. 365 Days) is a conceptual proposal by Mothership to enrich the new Feyenoord Stadium with a unique artistic and technological experience: a stadium-wide LED grandstand. This innovative addition has not yet been realized but aims to transform the stadium into a permanent attraction that draws visitors 365 days a year — even on days when no football is being played.
At the heart of the concept is a grandstand whose seats are equipped with LED lighting, transforming the stand into a gigantic, dynamic 360-degree screen. This “LED attractor” turns the seating area into an artistic experience and offers space for a wide range of programming, such as light shows, interactive installations, musical performances, and sponsor events.
The installation is designed to be both flexible and profitable. Several public programs are proposed, such as daytime tours with visual shows, evening performances, large concerts, corporate events, and interactive apps that allow visitors to see themselves displayed on the screen. Each program is tailored to the goal of encouraging visitors to stay longer and providing them with an unforgettable experience.
Technically, the system consists of thousands of seats with built-in LED points, controlled through a network of power cabinets and a main controller. The focus is on experience: all content is specially developed to make the most of the unique grandstand environment.
The financial model demonstrates that the investment in the system can be profitable through ticket sales, hospitality, merchandise, and sponsorship revenue. At the same time, the stadium is positioned as a cultural hotspot in Rotterdam — an architectural icon capable of attracting international attention.
