Liefdespad Ruurlo
Love for nature
The Loveseat by Jurgen Bey on the Liefdespad in Ruurlo centers around ‘love for nature’. Bey, a leading Dutch product designer, is known for his innovative creations that explore the boundaries between art, design, and environment. His work ranges from furniture to complete public spaces, always with a strong focus on context and experience.
On the Liefdespad, he presents a tree bench — a seating object that quite literally embraces a tree. This Loveseat invites people to pause, reflect, and connect with nature. The tree is not merely decorative, but an essential part of the design.
Bey’s tree bench has become a true public attraction. The object is both sculptural and functional, offering a natural shaded spot to pause and reflect — on love, on one another, or simply on the landscape. A subtle design with a powerful message: love for nature begins with taking the time for it.
Mothership acted as curator, executor, and project manager for this project, ensuring that the artwork was seamlessly integrated into the public space of Ruurlo.
