Maurer United Architects, 2003

As part of the Year of the Farm 2003, Maurer United Architects created the traveling art project Farm World Kitchen. This culinary initiative brought city and countryside closer together around a monumental oak table designed to seat one hundred guests. The table traveled to farms in all twelve provinces of the Netherlands, serving as the setting for dinners prepared with regional produce. Each meal was curated and cooked by an urban chef, who combined local ingredients with contemporary culinary techniques.

Farm World Kitchen offered not only a flavorful experience but also a moment of reflection on food production, regional identity, and community. Mothership acted as content advisor and supported the national organization and rollout of this mobile restaurant concept. In doing so, a table in the farmyard became a stage for encounter, dialogue, and imagination.
